Grover the Groundhog to make virtual prediction for 2022

Perhaps next year Grover the Groundhog will have his prediction in person, but not in 2022.

He predicted an early spring in 2021.

Denise Donmoyer, president of the Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association, said Grover will have it virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said Grover believed it “irresponsible” to have a gathering inside with lots of people.

“If at all possible, we will do it in person next year,” she said.

The 7:30 a.m. event is going to be posted on the Sweet Arrow Lake County Park’s Facebook page. Bob Evanchalk, a member of the association, will read Grover’s prediction. Sweet Arrow Sue will be there.

“As far as we know, they are the only married groundhogs in PA,” Donmoyer said.

A link for songs and stories by Matthew Dodd will be posted on the page.
