VFW honors Teacher of the Year

Nesquehoning VFW Memorial Post 8008 recently honored a Panther Valley educator as the post’s Teacher of the Year.

Terry Bonner Jr. received this year’s honor.

Bonner is a teacher in the Panther Valley School District, where he has served as the social studies department chair since 2007.

Over his 17 years of teaching, he has taught 10th-grade world cultures, honors U.S. history and world history classes, honors psychology, criminal justice, honors political science, and business and marketing dual enrollment classes with Lehigh Carbon Community College.

Bonner served as a coach for the varsity boys basketball team, as well as track.

Outside the classroom, he served as the president of the Panther Valley Education Association from 2013-2017.

Bonner holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in history from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in business management and marketing from LaSalle University.
