A Schuylkill County man is facing charges after he was found with a machete.

State police at Frackville said at 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 19 troopers were dispatched to the Turkey Hill store in Shenandoah for a report of a man wearing a trench coat and causing a disturbance inside the store.

On scene troopers located the man and identified him as Richard Bates, 36, of Shenandoah.

Police found out he had a machete.

He was charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.
