Five dollar haircuts

Harry Carroll - Kind, generous and a great listener. A great father and barber with a sweet tooth for homemade Easter eggs. Harry’s was not just a place for haircuts but a place where you could refresh yourself, “shoot the bull” and have lively discussions - sometimes politics but mostly about sports. He was a true blue Yankee and Notre Dame fan.

“Big Hearted Harry” would have been an appropriate nickname for him because, for whatever the reason, if you needed a free haircut or he thought you needed a free one, you got it from Harry. He knew his clientele. And people reciprocated by helping him if they could.

His shop was open for about 50 years until about 2017 when he retired. Haircuts never exceeded $5. Harry never got rich on $5 haircuts (with treats). So, onward and upward for Harry because he made the world a little bit better. A common man that touched a lot of lives.

Sincerely,

John Huber
