The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced the menu for Jan. 24-28 is:

Monday: No meal

Tuesday: Pork chop, red potatoes, zucchini, cookie or beef Cobb salad

Wednesday: Shrimp scampi, pasta, broccoli and cauliflower, grape or deli sandwich

Thursday: Ranch turkey, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, pudding or chicken salad

Friday: Italian wedding soup, herb chicken, rotini, fruit salad or beef and cheese sandwich

The center also announced upcoming events: Yahtzee on Jan. 21 at 11 a.m.; Movie and Popcorn on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Jan. 25 at 10:45 a.m.; Balloon Tennis on Jan. 26 at 11 a.m.; Minute to Win It on Jan. 27 at 10:30 a.m.; Po-Keeno Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.

Pool, Cards, Games and Socialization available every day. New members always welcome. For more information or to sign up call the center Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-1 a.m. at 570-669-9930.

Tax prep assistance

The Panther Valley Public Library will offer assistance to seniors age 60 and older who qualify for the rent/property tax rebate in preparing federal income tax form 1040 and the Pennsylvania tax return. Patrons can drop off their tax information at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, on Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and March 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Appointments are required for these services. Call the library at 570-645-3780 Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or Thursday from 5-7 p.m. to schedule your appointment.
