Lehigh Coroner: Jim Thorpe woman killed in Mahoning crash

A Jim Thorpe woman died shortly after being involved in a three-car crash Thursday afternoon on the Mansion House in Mahoning Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said Jennifer Dyson, 38, was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m. in the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus.

An autopsy performed Friday determined the cause of death to be blunt force injuries due to the crash. The manner of death is accident.

The crash occurred at around 2:50 p.m. on Route 209 north, about 3,600 feet north of Oak Drive, Jim Thorpe, Mahoning Township.

Dyson was a passenger in an SUV that was struck by two other vehicles and went over the guide rail.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the death is also being investigated by the Mahoning Township Police Department.
