Pocono Mountain Regional police have released the name and details of a fatal crash that occurred on Jan. 9 at 6:44 a.m.
Killed in the crash was Emma Schultz, 21, of Pocono Lake.
Police said the crash occurred at 2275 Route 940 near Short Lane, in Pocono Summit, Tobyhanna Township.
Police said the initial investigation revealed that Schultz lost control of her vehicle, it traveled off the road and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A GoFundMe page was established to raise money for funeral expenses.
A post on the GoFundMe site started by Lindsay Bauman says Emma was a “wonder daughter, sister, and friend who touched the lives of those around here. We are all devastated by this loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Emma the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes,” the post reads.
To date $9,300 was raised, beyond the $5,000 goal.
