After the Olympians win the first three bouts of the match, the Blue Raiders reel off five straight victories - including falls from Perry Breiner at 128 pounds, Bruce Steigerwalt at 140 and Gregg Confer at 147. Paul James adds a pin at 169, while Darrell Turner registers a six-pointer at 187. The winners also receive a superior decision from Allan Steigerwalt at 121, and decision wins from Ken Heisler (134) and Dan Geisinger (heavyweight). Thorpe receives a fall from Tom Straubinger at 100 pounds.
