The Northwestern boys and girls basketball teams both picked up wins on Monday.

Elsewhere, the Jim Thorpe boys basketball team, as well as the Pleasant Valley, Palmerton and Northern Lehigh girls basketball squads were all victorious.

Blue Mountain-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe knocked off Blue Mountain for a 62-46 Schuylkill League win.

Derryl Fisher had 21 points for the Olympians (6-3). Kaiden Herron added 15 points, and Bryson Heydt scored 13.

Kade Henninger had 16 points for the Eagles (7-3).

Jazce Carabello-Snowell had 19 points for the Tide (6-3), who led 43-12 at halftime. Darren Yost scored all 13 of his points in a 27-point second quarter for the winners.

Jack Lorenz and Joe Roth had seven points apiece for the Indians (2-10).

Paige Sevrain had nine of her 22 points in the third quarter for Northwestern (8-3). Cara Thomas had 18 of her 20 points in the second half for the Tigers to break open a 25-25 game at the intermission.

McCormick Karner scored a game-high 24 points for the Slaters (7-2).
