January 10, 1986 - Lehighton’s Tommy Kresge scores 30 points against Pocono Mountain to become the school’s all-time leading scorer. Kresge tallies 11 points in the opening quarter of the Indians’ 74-61 Centennial League victory and hits a pair of baskets early in the second frame to pull within one point of career leader Denny Roth, who held the mark of 1,159. Kresge connects on a soft jumper with 40 seconds until halftime to break the old record. Lehighton, coached by Jim Smith, also receives 14 points from Matt Schaeffer and 12 from Scott Kulp. Kresge, who will finish his career with 2,234 points, also pulls down eight rebounds.
