State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of a large amount of cash from a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said on Dec. 23 at 11:27 p.m. a man from Blandon, Berks County, reported that sometime between 5:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on that date someone entered his residence at 17 Judy Drive, in Cressona, and removed two firearms and a small black safe that contained $10,000 in cash. The two guns were described as being a Mansfield 9mm pistol and a Centurion Tactical pistol.

Troopers also reported that a 35-year-old man from Bernville, Berks County, reported on Dec. 31 at 5:27 p.m. that someone stole $1,204 in cash from his residence at 30 Mifflin St., in Pine Grove.
