State police at the Hazleton barracks reported on the following area crashes:

• A Carbon County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 9 a.m. on Dec. 24 along Arthur Gardner Parkway, in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.

Police said Michael J. Marchetti, 50, of Hazleton, was driving a 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup westbound when he applied his brakes. His vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country van operated by Alice G. Schwendeman, 55, of Tresckow. No one was injured. The van was towed.

Schwendeman was cited for following too closely.

• Police said Emely I. Caballero, 35, of McAdoo, suffered possible injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 1:54 p.m. Dec. 27 on Interstate 80 in Foster Township.

Police said she was driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander and was traveling too fast for the wet and icy conditions when she lost control of the vehicle and it traveled off the side of the roadway and struck a guide rail.

She was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, by American Patient Transport Systems personnel.

• Police said a 3-year-old boy sustained possible injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:35 p.m. Dec. 26 on Interstate 80 in Foster Township.

He was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Michael S. Jurinko, 42, of Stroudsburg.

Police said the boy was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by the American Patient Transport Systems personnel.

Neither the driver, nor two other passengers, Tara A. Doncses, 39, of Nesquehoning, and an 8-year-old Nesquehoning boy, were hurt.

Police said the 2019 Honda Civic was westbound with a doughnut tire on it when the driver lost control, causing it to travel into the right lane and off the roadway where it struck a tree head-on.

Police said Jurinko was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
