Two inmates have COVID-19 in the Schuylkill County Prison.
Warden David Wapinsky said the prisoners were diagnosed Wednesday and are isolated.
“All precautions have been taken,” he said.
Wapinsky provided the prison report. Peak census for December was 247, while peak female census was 48. Census low was 219. Average number of outsourced inmates was 55 in December. There are 54 outsourced inmates in other facilities. Centre County has 41, Columbia County 1, Northumberland County 8, and Snyder County 4.
As of Wednesday, there were 233 inmates in the prison. Of those, 189 are males and 44 females. Seven cells have three prisoners each, Wapinsky said.
