The Lehighton boys’ basketball team defeated Catasauqua on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Palmerton earned a victory in wrestling action.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Catasauqua

Lehighton capitalized on a solid second-half effort to come away with a 47-45 non-league win over Catasauqua.

After trailing 25-19 at half thanks to a 21-point second quarter for the Roughies, the Indians staged a comeback in the second half to pull out the victory.

Brayden Lutz recorded a game-high 20 points for the Indians (2-8), while Joe Roth chipped in with 13.

Manny Jiminez finished with 13 points for Catty (0-6), while Bryann Rivera added 11.

Blue Mountain pulled away from Pleasant Valley for a 60-49 non-league win.

Carson Kerstetter scored 19 of his game-high 29 points in the Blue Eagles’ (5-2) second half, in which the hosts outscored the Bears 39-26. Isaac Thomas and Kade Henninger added 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Donald Francois, Jr. finished with 19 points for the Bears (1-3), while Patrick Moore just reached double digits with 10 points.

Blake Roberts had 13 points for the Tribe, while Cole Dietz contributed 12. Mrgim Meziri chipped in with nine points.

The Roughies’ Frank Pujols ended up with a game-high 15 points.

8TH Grade

Jim Thorpe-Weatherly

Jim Thorpe held off a late rally by Weatherly to secure a 41-39 win.

Logan O’Connor powered the Olympians with 13 points, while Jackson Gehris added double figures with 10.

The Wreckers’ Jacob Tom led all scorers with 22 points, while Nico Saldukis added eight points.

Tamaqua-Panther Valley

Tamaqua posted a 32-21 win over Panther Valley.

Tringome led the Raiders with eight points, while McCabe added seven.

The Panthers’ D. Lazar led all scorers with 13 points.

Jim Thorpe-Weatherly

Weatherly cruised to a 36-6 win over Jim Thorpe.

The Wreckers’ Aiden Buck netted a game-high 23 points.

Jakin Tamagini and Denning led the Blue Raiders, as both finished tied for a game-high 10 points.

Panther Valley-Tamaqua

Tamaqua rolled to a 45-19 victory over Panther Valley.

The Blue Raiders’ Cecelia Ulicny netted a game-high 11 points, while Kendle Miller and Lauren Ligenza both followed with 10 points.

Morgan Orsulak recorded a Panthers’ best with nine points.

Weatherly-Jim Thorpe

Weatherly and Jim Thorpe ended up locked in a 26-26 tie.

DeAnne Pugh paced the Wreckers’ with a game-high 15 points.

Ava Ruff led the Olympians with 10 points.

Pottsville-Tamaqua

Pottsville posted a 27-15 win over Tamaqua.

Simintus had 10 points for the Tide, while Ketner netted seven.
