• David S. Bowers, 21, of Bethel, was charged by state police with leaving the scene of an accident after a crash at 4:09 a.m. Dec. 27 on West Bacon Street in Palo Alto.

Police said he was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado west when it struck a utility pole, then continued west on three wheels until the intersection with Route 61.

Police said Bowers then ran from the scene.

Police said he was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

A PPL crew was summoned to the scene to correct a power outage problem caused by the vehicle striking the pole.

• Gail R. Ahner, 69, of Schuylkill Haven, was cited by state police after a two-vehicle crash at 1:17 p.m. Dec. 16 at the intersection of the Centre Turnpike and Paramount Boulevard in West Brunswick Township.

Police said she was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus that attempted to turn left onto Paramount Boulevard without yielding to a northbound 2003 Hyundai Elantra driven by Ricky L. Fox, 63, of Pottsville, causing the intersection collision.

The drivers escaped injuries, but both vehicles sustained disabling damages, police said.

• Sharon L. Werst, 67, of Zionsville, escaped injuries when a vehicle she was operating struck a deer on the Centre Highway in West Brunswick Township at 6:24 p.m. Dec. 26.

Police said she was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima north, just south of the intersection with Municipal Road, when the deer entered the roadway and was struck by the car.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:10 a.m. on Jan. 1 along Garfield Avenue, at the intersection with West Second Mountain Road, in North Manheim Township.

Her vehicle traveled through the intersection, left the road and landed in a ditch.
