Blue Ridge accepting handmade valentines

Blue Ridge is once again encouraging everyone to make handmade Valentine cards to be distributed to nursing home residents, veterans and soldiers through its ninth annual Touch A Heart campaign.

Last year, through the community’s participation, Blue Ridge distributed over 10,000 handmade Valentine cards with personalized messages to over 65 organizations - including nursing homes, hospitals, VFWs, and others. These organizations placed the cards into the hands of people who would otherwise not receive one on Valentine’s Day.

“A handmade Valentine card with a personalized message and a name is such a simple gesture, but makes a big impact to those who may feel forgotten on Valentine’s Day,” said Julianne Brixius, marketing/public relations coordinator for Blue Ridge.

“We as a company value our community, and have made it part of our mission to uplift those who need it the most.”

Blue Ridge is accepting handmade Valentine cards with personal touches now through Feb. 3. Individuals and organizations can send their handmade cards to:
