A Hazle Township man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a crash at 6:56 p.m. Saturday on Route 940 in the township.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said Dennis C. Cottle, 49, was pronounced dead at 8 o’clock that night by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Suzuki XL-7/Grand Vitara west when it traveled off the north side of the roadway onto a parking lot and struck multiple legally-parked vehicles.

Police said he was not properly restrained in the vehicle.
