The Zion UCC in Lehighton will host auditions for “The Addams Family Musical” on Dec. 27.
Auditions for ZOW are traditionally held on the day after Christmas each year, unless that day falls on a Sunday, as it does this year.
There will be two times to audition: Noon and 6 p.m. on Dec. 27.
Show dates are March 3-5. The shows will be presented four times, one each evening, as well as one matinee on Saturday.
This hilarious show contains parts for members of the Addams family, as well as ancestors and an additional family of three
There are also singing and dancing numbers that incorporate the ancestors throughout the show.
No experience is necessary for the play, just a desire to perform. Anyone in ninth grade or beyond is invited to join the Zion Opera Workshop family. Rehearsals are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Rehearsals and performances are held in Smith Auditorium of Zion UCC, Second and Iron streets. The group is under the supervision and direction of Bradly R. Cressley, director of music at Zion UCC.
Those interested need not sign up to audition; they can just show up at one of the two audition times.
When auditioning for a part, they will need to read lines and sing a portion of a song the character sings in the show. All who audition will be admitted to the cast.
Additionally, anyone interested in helping with the technical end of the show, including working on sets and other technical aspects, may show up at auditions to sign up as well.
