Medical marijuana dispensary to open Monday

A medical marijuana dispensary is opening in Pottsville.

Beyond/Hello Pottsville will begin serving medical marijuana patients and caregivers at 10 a.m. Monday.

Located in the former Schuylkill Trust building at 101 N. Centre St., the building was sold March 6, 2019, for $340,000 to Jushi PA LLC, an investment group associated with Agape Total Health Care Inc. Macungie, Lehigh County.

The state Department of Health gave a medical marijuana permit to Agape Total Health Care Inc. in 2018.

“In 2019, our company set a mission of broadening access for medical marijuana patients. In a little more than three years’ time, we successfully opened multiple retail locations throughout the Philadelphia, Greater Delaware Valley, Pittsburgh and Scranton regions. Not only have we continued to successfully deliver on our mission of expanding access to medical marijuana treatments for Pennsylvania’s growing patient population, but we also helped eliminate the need to drive long distances to access these life-changing treatments,” Jim Cacioppo, CEO, chairman and founder of Jushi, said in a statement.

The company known as Jushi Holdings Inc. is based on Boca Raton, Florida.

The Pottsville dispensary will sell dry leaf, concentrates, cartridges, tinctures, topicals, capsules, pills. Other items will also be sold.

A licensed pharmacist and experienced staff are available to dispense product and serve customers.

Gov. Tom Wolf signed the medical marijuana bill into law in 2016. Those with a serious medical condition as defined by the law can obtain a medical marijuana card after being examined by a doctor. A list of approved conditions is on the Pennsylvania Department of Health website.
