State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County.
• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 6:47 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the intersection of Tide Road and Route 309, in Rush Township. Troopers said Natasha Cruz, 31, of Nesquehoning, driving a 2012 Nissan Versa, on Tide Road and was attempting to turn onto Route 309 and had the green light at the intersection. Another driver was northbound on 309 and failed to stop for a red light and entered the intersection. The front of the other vehicle struck Cruz’s vehicle in the front driver’s side. After the collision the other driver fled the scene northbound on 309. The Versa spun and came to rest on the right shoulder.
Two children, ages 6 and 9, were in the car. No one was injured.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 9:09 p.m. on Dec. 1 along Breisch Road, in Union Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Frackville was driving a 2017 Kia Optima southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. He swerved to the right to avoid the animal, the Optima went onto the berm where it struck an embankment
The teen and his 17-year-old female passenger from Girardville, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.
