Bowmanstown Council to adopt next year’s budget later this month

Bowmanstown still intends to adopt next year’s budget with no tax increase.

After an executive session, borough council agreed Tuesday to readvertise the 2022 budget that was approved at the Nov. 15 meeting, and hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 to adopt the budget along with the tax levy.

The advertised budget had revisions in it that were not approved at the Nov. 15 meeting, so council voted to change the budget back to the approved budget of that meeting, and will hold a special meeting to adopt the revised version.

Council’s decision came after it agreed last month to advertise next year’s spending plan for adoption at Tuesday’s council meeting with no tax increase, which would leave the borough’s millage rate at 13.005 mills.

Last December, council adopted this year’s budget with no municipal tax increase.
