A woman escaped serious injury this afternoon in a crash in East Penn township. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. as she was traveling south on Church Hill Road just north of Route 895. She apparently lost control skidding across the roadway striking an earth embankment causing her SUV to roll onto its side. East Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
