Dustin Rehrig to appear Wednesday on the E! Network

The owner of a Palmerton music school is among the contestants who will be featured on Wednesday’s episode of “Clash of the Cover Bands.”

Tune in at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on the E! Network to see their episode hit the screen for the first time on the music competition series #ClashOfTheCoverBands.

Watch Dustin Rehrig, owner of Off The Charts Music School in Palmerton, as he performs with Karen as Dolly as they battle against Blown Away a Tribute to Carrie Underwood.

Rehrig, who is also the owner of DDR Entertainment LLC, explained how he met his partner whom he performed with on the music competition series.

“I met Karen Hester, the character portraying Dolly Parton, we met about eight years ago where I found her on YouTube,” Rehrig said. “It was like I was watching and listening to Dolly Parton.”

Rehrig said he contacted Hester and told her he’d like to build a show around her.

“We started to build a show around her at Penn’s Peak, cultivated that show over the years,” he said. “It just sells out every single time.”

Rehrig said the two have “been connected for years,” and said the opportunity to compete on the music competition series presented itself.

“This opportunity came through Jimmy Fallon Productions. He is executive producer of this show,” he said. “He wanted to put together a tribute show to feature tribute cover bands around the country and spotlight them a little bit.”

Rehrig said it’s essentially the same premise, same type of feel, as “American Idol” and “The Voice,” as it’s shot at CBS Studios in Hollywood.

“They got hold of us back in May, asked if we’d be interested in doing this show and putting it together for this series,” he said, adding that there are a total of 20 bands who competed. “They flew us out to Hollywood.”

Rehrig said the final will be Dec. 22.

“It’s a cool show, really neat,” he said. “Great experience.”

The show is hosted by Stephen “tWitch” Boss with Meghan Trainor, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriters Adam Lambert and Ester Dean as celebrity judges.

“Clash of the Cover Bands” brings together the best of the best cover bands from across the country to celebrate music and the art of performance across all genres. In each of the 10 episodes, two bands of similar musical genre (e.g., Pop Divas, ’80s icons, kings of country, platinum icons, rock legends, etc.) go head-to-head over the course of two rounds to see which band has the most entertaining cover performance, with a chance to win a cash prize of $10,000 and bragging rights.

At the end of the season, one winner will have a chance to take home $25,000 and appear in studio for a musical performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Artists covered this season include Aretha Franklin, Blink 182, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Cher, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Lady Gaga, Ozzy Osbourne, Poison, Tim McGraw, Tina Turner and U2.

The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Electric Hot Dog with Jimmy Fallon, Jim Juvonen, Natasha Brugler and Kelley Parker serving as executive producers.
