The spirit of Christmas was alive and well in Weissport Saturday as Santa and friends made their way around the streets of Weissport handing out gift bags to the children.
The parade was followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree with Santa at the Borough Park. Everyone enjoyed free hot chocolate, and the children had a chance to sit with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas.
As the children came forward, they received a candy cane and a raffle ticket for a gift from Santa.
The celebration was hosted by the Weissport Events Committee.Others who helped with the event include James Osbourne, Thomas Ketchledge, Lucas Ketchledge, Makenzie Pretko and Riley Pretko.
Sponsors of the festivities included AOK Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical of Lehighton which donated the tree; High Tech Automotive, Weissport, donated the presents that were raffled off to the children; and Mario’s Pizza of Weissport donated pizza for the children.
