Retail thefts reported

State police at Frackville reported on three incidents at the Walmart store along Plaza Drive in Rush Township.

• On Nov. 9 at 5:38 p.m. store asset protection manager observed Matthew Creveling, 33, of Lansford, concealing items on his person. After he passed through all final points of sale without paying for the items he was detained and troopers called.

He was placed under arrest for retail theft, a felony 3, due to prior convictions, and arraigned before a district judge. He was unable to post bail and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.

• On Nov. 21 at 8:32 p.m. store asset protection manager observed Bolivar Paulino Marrero, 19, of Hazleton, concealing merchandise within a personal carry bag. He was detained by store personnel until troopers arrived and cited him.

• On Nov. 19 at 6:23 p.m. troopers responded to retail theft. An unidentified woman was observed altering price tags within the apparel section. When confronted by store personnel she fled the scene in a white box truck with a thin red stripe across most of the driver’s side and the number 19 in the upper right corner of the truck.

She was described as being white, about 40 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with glasses, brown hair-shoulder length, regular build, wearing flowered leggings, black boots and a black jacket.
