Couple faces kidnapping charges

A couple is facing kidnapping and interference with custody of children charges in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Nov. 29 at 12:04 p.m. officers responded to 114 Constance Court, in Long Pond, to assist county Children & Youth officers regarding a court order.

Children & Youth was given custody of a juvenile male at the residence earlier in the day.

Upon arrival it was determined one of the parents, later identified as Marci Flutz, 36, fled the residence with the juvenile.

An investigation led police to the Econo Lodge on Stafford Avenue, in Scranton, where Fultz was found with the juvenile. She was taken into custody by Scranton police and the juvenile was placed in the care of Children & Youth.

Police said the father of the juvenile, identified as Reinaldo Montesdeoca, 43, was found in Pocono Pines where police conducted a traffic stop. He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville for processing.

Charges filed include kidnapping, a felony 1; interference with custody of children, a felony 2, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Both were arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $100,000. Both were unable to post bail and placed in the county prison.
