Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen winners announced

Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008 recently announced the winners of the Voice of Democracy speech and essay contest, as well as the Patriot’s Pen essay contest.

The winner of the Voice of Democracy contest was Benjamin Kindt, left, who received a check for $250 from Post Commander Craig Strohl. Benjamin is a Panther Valley High School senior. This year's contest theme was “America: Where Do We Go From Here.” CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS
The winner of the Patriot's Pen contest was Ralph Clay III, a Jim Thorpe middle school student. He received a check from Commander Craig Strohl for $150. This year's theme was “How Can I Be a Good American?”
