Chestnuthill Supervisors learned about a new scam to make fake permits.
Several municipalities have discovered fraudulent permits have been submitted to their zoning officers. What they are doing, according to the Chestnuthill Supervisors, is going on the internet and making a copy of a real permit, printing it out, changing the information to their information and making another copy to submit to the zoning office in their municipality.
The supervisors have authorized Matt Neeb, Chestnuthill Township’s zoning officer, to contact/initiate complaints and refer the fraudulent permits with the Pennsylvania State Police and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
