Shawn McArdle, center, of Hometown, was recently sworn in as a Hazleton City firefighter by Mayor Jeff Cusat. He is the son of John and DelRey McArdle of Nesquehoning and presently serves as the vice president and second assistant chief of the Nesquehoning Hose Company. He has been an active member for 15 years, serving seven as an assistant fire chief. He is a graduate of Misericordia University. McArdle and his wife, Jillian, have three children.
