The Carbon County Dorothy Day House in Lansford is helping needy families in Carbon County during Christmas for the third year.

Last year, the group was able to reach 70 children.

The organization is giving away Christmas presents, Christmas trees and decorations and food this year, but it needs the community’s help to accomplish its goal.

“We are in need of new toys, games, and clothing for children ages newborn to 18,” said Ericka Williams-Rodriguez, outreach coordinator. “We are also in need of Christmas trees and decorations.”

She said any business that would be willing to set up a donation drop box would be great appreciated.

“Please consider … working together with your neighbors to help us provide a happy Christmas to families who are suffering,” Williams-Rodriguez said.
