The Nesquehoning Borough Authority last night agreed to purchase the Hauto Valley Water Company from the Kovatch Corporation at a price tag of $200,000.
The price includes five wells, the transmission lines, pumps and rights of way of the system established by Kovatch to serve its real estate interests in the Hauto Valley years ago.
The authority plans to incorporate the formerly private water company into the new well system it is developing in the borough. Part of that project calls for building a water tank in the New Columbus section of the town, laying some 20,000 feet of pipe and the purchase of about 650 new meters.
