Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said Monday that his office was called to confirm a death at the Carbon County Correctional Facility.

The death, believed to be a suicide, is being investigated by the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office.

“We’re still trying to ascertain exactly what happened,” District Attorney Michael Greek said.

The jail’s acting warden was not available for comment. Calls to the jail were directed to the District Attorney’s Office.

Greek said he could not release details due to an ongoing investigation.

Miller said the body was taken to Allentown where an autopsy will be performed.
