Supplee Qualifies for National Championships

Sophomore Sarah Supplee placed fifth, leading West Chester University’s women’s cross country team to a 14th-place showing at the NCAA Regionals at Lock Haven’s course earlier this month.

The Northwestern Lehigh graduate qualified for the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships with a time of 21 minutes, 42.3 seconds on the 6K course.

Supplee registered a fifth-place finish in 22 minutes and 47.20 seconds to earn First Team All-PSAC honors at the 2021 edition of the PSAC Championships in October. As a team, West Chester finished 13th with a team score of 299.

Supplee earned her second career All-Conference honors after earning Second Team standing at the conclusion of her 2019 rookie season with a 16th-place finish in those Championships. Supplee’s fifth-place finish is also the highest finish by a Golden Ram at the Championships since Diana Dunn finished third at the 2017 edition of the PSAC Championships.

Supplee was named Athlete of the Week following a stellar performance at the Bloomsburg Invitational in October.

She picked up her third victory in as many races to help West Chester register a second-place team finish at the Bloomsburg Invitational. Supplee traversed the course in 22 minutes and 16 seconds to finish 46 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

The NCAA Championships will be held on Nov. 20 at the Abbey Course in St. Leo, Florida.
