Two students at the Jim Thorpe Area High School were presented American Legion Medals during a patriotic ceremony held during the annual Veterans Day program held there by the Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304.

Recognized were Tim Benyo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Drew Benyo, and Maria Rothermel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rothermel.

Charles J. McHugh Jr., post commander, addressed the student body on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the signing of the armistice at the termination of World War I during 1918.

Participants included James Pfingstler, principal, and the Rev. Robert Quinn, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Jim Thorpe.
