State police at Fogelsville

State police at Fogelsville charged Jason Bliss, 47, of New Tripoli, with defiant criminal trespass after an incident at 12:16 p.m. Oct. 7 in the 7100 block of Herber Road, Lowhill Township.

Police said Bliss, who was advised by a state police after a prior incident to not return to the victim’s property, entered a New Tripoli garage and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

• Police are investigating a property damage case reported at 8:44 a.m. Oct. 21.

It happened at a property off Route 309 in Lynn Township when a vehicle struck a fence on the right side of the roadway and traveled into a grassy area before the driver fled the scene.

• Pamela J. James, 64, of New Tripoli, escaped injuries in a vehicle-deer incident at 6:35 a.m. Oct. 21 on the Kernsville Road in Lowhill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek eastbound when a deer ran out onto the roadway. She was unable to stop in time and struck the deer, causing disabling damages to her vehicle.

• Benjamin J. McElwee, 35, of Orwigsburg, was cited for a stop sign/yield sign violation after an incident at 8:48 a.m. Oct. 29 on the off-ramp of Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said he was driving a 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser on the ramp when it struck the rear of a gas tanker truck that had slowed down in order to travel onto Route 100 southbound. The driver of the trick was not identified.

Police said McElwee was not injured.
