State police reported on crashes on Schuylkill County roadways.

Schuylkill Haven

• A one-vehicle crash was reported on Oct. 31 at 2:04 a.m. along Berne Drive in South Manheim Township. Troopers said a 16-year-old male from Schuylkill Haven was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound when the front passenger side tire left the road and onto a grassy area. The vehicle left the road and rolled down an embankment, landing on its roof.

The teen was not injured but the vehicle was towed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 9:43 p.m. on Nov. 4 along Fountain Road in Hegins Township. Troopers said Alexander V. Mahoney, 30, of Valley View, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound and attempting to negotiate a right curve. The vehicle left the road and crashed into a utility pole along the left side. After impact with the pole the Cobalt landed in a ditch.

Mahoney was injured and treated at the scene by a EMS unit personnel.

Troopers said a further investigation revealed that Mahoney was driving under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 6:27 p.m. on Nov. 5 along Suedberg Road, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Renee L. Hughes, 54, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2016 Kia Optima westbound when a deer entered the road in front of her and was unable to avoid hitting the deer head-on. Hughes and a passenger were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

Frackville barracks

State police at Frackville reported on the following crash:

• A two-vehicle crash occurred at 1:39 p.m. on Nov. 3 along Route 54 in Ryan Township. Troopers said Robert M. Bachman, 55, of Easton, driving a 2018 Peterbilt 520 truck eastbound when the vehicle ran off the road. Bachman attempted to correct the vehicle which entered back into the eastbound lane, crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2015 Jeep Cherokee operated by Jack M. Meyer, 80, of Mahanoy City, who was westbound.

No injuries were reported. The Cherokee was towed.

Bachman was cited for the crash.
