Susan M. Rooney of 602 Center St., Jim Thorpe, was admitted to the Carbon County Bar Association on Monday during ceremonies in courtroom number 1 in Jim Thorpe.

President Judge John P. Lavelle administered the oath to the new attorney. The seventh woman to be admitted to the county bar, she recently began her two-year clerkship with Judge Lavelle.

A graduate of King’s College and the Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, attorney Rooney was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania last month, having passed the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners Test given July 26-27.
