State police at Schuylkill Haven - crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following crashes:

• A two-vehicle hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:36 p.m. on Oct. 14 along at the intersection of Route 61 and Brick Hill Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Annalissa Y. Ferrer, 53, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Brick Hill Road and stopped at the intersection. When the light turned green Ferrer turned right to go northbound on 61. A driver behind her accelerated to go around Ferrer and struck the Elantra. After impact the other driver fled the scene.

Ferrer was not injured and her vehicle sustained minor damages.

• Another hit-and-run crash was reported at 5 a.m. on Oct. 14 along Route 61 in Port Clinton borough. Troopers 2010 Dodge Journey legally parked when it was struck by another vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

• A crash was reported at 1:19 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the intersection of Route 61 and Market Street, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Dennis Zellers, 66, of Pottsville, was driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage southbound while Rita A. Murray, 72, of Orwigsburg, driving a 2020 Subaru Impreza, was stopped for a traffic light on Market Street. Murray then attempted to cross 61 after the light turned green and struck the Mirage. Troopers said Zellers ran the red light.

Zellers, his passenger, Denise R. Gartner, 46, of Pottsville, and Murray, were all not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Zellers was cited for a red light violation.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 3:36 p.m. on Oct. 27 along Route 895 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Ryan B. Leibson, 18, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2012 Chrysler TC eastbound and slowing down to make a left turn onto Pine Creek Drive when his vehicle as struck in the rear by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by William R. Drobnick, 32, of New Ringgold. No one was injured. Both vehicles had to towed.

Drobnick was cited for following too closely.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred on Oct. 22 at 8:39 p.m. along Bohundy Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Lucas C. Kulbitsky, 21, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata southbound when he observed opossums on the road. He swerved to avoid the animals with his vehicle going onto the berm and striking a tree.

Kulbitsky suffered a minor injury that did not require immediate medical attention. The vehicle was towed.
