State police at Lehighton report on area crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• Ty J. Green, 26, of Palmerton, was driving a 2016 Ford Fiesta, was involved in a crash at 1:54 a.m. on Nov. 7 along Forest Street in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Police said Pennsylvania Department of Transportation property was damaged. Green left the scene and was located at his residence. He refused medical treatment. The road was closed in both directions due to the crash. Green was cited.

• A crash was reported at 4:26 p.m. on Nov. 6 along Kuehner Drive in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Corey J. Rabinowitz, 21, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound and approaching the intersection with Christman Road. Troopers said Rabinowitz was new in operating a bike and applied the brakes to hard for a stop sign which caused him to lose control. The bike fell onto its left side of the road. Rabinowtiz was not injured.

• A three-vehicle crash was reported at 6:51 a.m. on Nov. 4 along Route 248 at the Palmerton exit, Carbon County, in a construction zone. Troopers said Leanne E. Clee, 38, of Lehighton, driving a 2013 Honda Odyssey, was eastbound with Ian M. Carr, 19, of Weissport, driving a 1999 Ford F-150 truck ahead of her. Carr came to a sudden stop due to stop traffic ahead of him which caused Clee’s vehicle to hit the rear of Carr’s vehicle, pushing it into the rear of a 2011 Toyota Rav4 driven by a Lansford resident, who troopers declined to identify.

No one was injured. The Honda and Ford were towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 6:56 a.m. on Oct. 21 at the Route 209 (Interchange Road) and Hideaway Hills Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Maria Kisil, 34, of Tobyhanna, was stopped in the southbound left lane of 209 driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz attempting to turn left onto Hideaway Hills Road when her car was struck in the rear by a 2016 GMC Canyon driven by Zachary S. Seifert, 27, of Kunkletown. Kisil suffered a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Seifert was not injured.

Troopers cited Seifert for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 11:09 p.m. on Nov. 7 along East Catawissa Street in Nesquehoning. Troopers said Richard A. Brennan, 61, of Nesquehoning, driving a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, was southbound when Samantha L. Williams, 21, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 2013 Mazda 3, in front of him, slowed down to avoid striking a deer. Brennan’s vehicle rear-ended Williams’ vehicle.

No one was injured.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 6:04 a.m. on Nov. 5 along Green Street in Franklin Township, Carbon County. David E. Shook, 63, of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, was driving a 2013 Ford F150 truck when he attempted to negotiate a left hand curve in the road. The truck left the road and struck a tree along the west berm.

No injuries were reported. Shook was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
