Monroe man charged with sexually assaulting his son, 2

A Monroe County has been jailed, charged with sexually assaulting his 2 1/2-year-old son.

Pocono Mountain Regional police identified the suspect as Alexander Talley, 25, of 9256 Westwood Drive, Tobyhanna. He has been charged with two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse,, aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a person under 13, sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor-sexual offenses, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor, all felonies, and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault person less than 13, indecent assault person less than 16, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Police said on Nov. 10 officers responded to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for a report of a 2-year-old boy with several fractures, internal injuries, bruises and other injuries.

An investigation and further examination of the child led to the police securing a search warrant for Talley’s residence and the arrest of the suspect. The child remains a patient at the hospital and is in the custody of the Monroe County Office of Children and Youth.

Talley was arraigned before District Judge Danielle Travagline, Coolbaugh Township, and committed to the county prison in Snydersville after failing to post $250,000 straight cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Nov. 24.
