State police at Schuylkill Haven

• State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a series of burglaries at Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said at least five residents along Wynonah Drive, Lake Wynonah, in Wayne Township, were reported entered illegally on Oct. 12 at 2:56 a.m. Troopers ask anyone who observed any suspicious activity in the are or has video surveillance on their property to contact them.

• On Oct. 13 at 2:17 a.m. troopers responded to Coal Street in Port Carbon borough for a domestic dispute. A 30-year-old woman from Port Carbon was physically assaulted by Robert Matthews, 32, of Germansville, Lehigh County. Matthews had left the scene prior to the arrival of troopers.

A warrant was secured for his arrest, charging him with simple assault and other related counts.

• A 60-year-old Orwigsburg man was charged with assault causing bodily injury after a domestic incident at 6:32 p.m. Oct. 17 along Stony Mountain Road in South Manheim Township.

Police said the man, whose name was not released, threw a 50-year-old Auburn woman to the ground and struck her several times.

He was taken into custody and arraigned before an on-call judge.

• Thirteen tires were dumped on a man’s property along the New Philadelphia Road in West Brunswick Township.

Police said the victim reported to them the incident happened between 5 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 a.m. Oct. 14.

Police said a canvass of the neighborhood came up with negative results.

• Linette A. Krutz, 59, of Schuylkill Haven, was cited for duty to give information and render aid after a vehicle she was driving struck a pedestrian in the parking lot of the Giant Food Store, Route 61, North Manheim Township.

The victim, Melissa M. Keifer, 27, of Minersville, sustained minor injuries in the incident, police said.

The incident happened at 7:26 p.m. Oct. 5. Police said Keifer was returning a shopping cart when Krutz, driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, struck the woman. Police said Krutz fled the scene but was identified and charged.

• On Oct. 23 at 12:15 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Cressona Road in North Manheim Township, for a report of a man assaulting multiple people. Joseph Evans, 28, of Pottsville, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of simple assault, five counts of harassment and one count of criminal mischief.

The listed victims included two men, ages 25 and 55; and three women, ages 54, 25, and 16.
