Two persons were injured this afternoon when involved in a crash in Rush Township. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. when the driver of a sport utility vehicle traveling east on Route 54 lost control. His unit drifted to the right striking a stop sign at the intersection with Shawn Avenue. The SUV continued along a grass lawn and steep embankment before re-entering the roadway striking a vehicle. The offending vehicle came to rest in the west bound berm down a slight embankment. Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.
