November 4, 1956 - John Yorke breaks free for a 63-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to snap a tie and lift Marian to a 14-7 victory over Shenandoah Catholic. The Colts, coached by Hugh “Wink” Gallagher, are locked in a scoreless game until their opponents take a lead in the third frame. The advantage is short-lived as Marian responds with a 74-yard TD pass from Gene Yasson to Bill Ward. Yasson’s throw covers about 20 yards, while Ward accounts for the rest by racing away from the opposition. The Colts seal the win late in the game when John Piovane intercepts a Shenandoah pass.
