A gray Honda Accord was traveling northbound. There were several vehicles stopped on the roadway waiting for a vehicle turning into a driveway when the Honda collided into the rear end of red Nissan Murano SUV.

The Honda then entered the southbound lane and collided with a red Hyundai Elantra. The Elantra left the roadway and struck a tree.

This is the first fatal crash in the township within the last 1,090 days.

The township had developed a Vision Zero program to reduce serious and fatal crashes after averaging over 30 crashes per month and fatal crashes occurring for 9 straight years.

After following the Vision Zero plan, Lehigh Township has averaged about 15 crashes per month over the past two years, thus resulting in a nearly 50% reduction.
