Palmerton plans to approve a quality-of-life system ordinance that would address property maintenance.
Borough council on a 6-0 vote Thursday agreed to advertise the ordinance to address the issue. Council President Terry Costenbader was absent.
In August, council said it may look to create a ticketing system targeted at property maintenance issues.
Borough Manager Donna McGarry said at that time the borough had issues with properties that have high grass and weeds, and was looking at going toward a ticketing system to address the situation.
McGarry said at that time that if an individual is in violation of property maintenance regulations and they do not pay the ticket, a citation will be issued.
