Six Times News area schools have qualified for the District 11 football playoffs. The postseason tournament will feature games in six classes and kicks off this Friday and Saturday.

Classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A will have four-team fields, while Class 6A will have an eight-team field.

In Class 2A, Northern Lehigh earned the No. 1 seed and will host No. 4 seed Minersville on Saturday at 4 p.m. Palmerton was the No. 2 seed and will entertain No. 3 seed Catasauqua on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Two area teams also qualified in Class 3A. Jim Thorpe, the No. 3 seed, will travel to No. 2 seed Notre Dame, while No. 4 seed Tamaqua will be at top-seeded North Schuylkill. Both of those games will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

In Class 4A, unbeaten Northwestern earned the No. 1 seed and will host Wilson. That game will be played on Friday at 7 p.m.

In Class 6A, Pleasant Valley is the No. 7 seed. The Bears will travel to No. 2 seed Northampton for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
