A Virginia man is facing charges following an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said troopers were dispatched to Silver Pines Treatment Center, located at 5 White Owl Ave., in Mahanoy Township, at 5:57 p.m. on Oct. 22 for a report of a suicidal subject.

On scene troopers observed Karl Boehley, 23, of Arlington, Virginia, was holding a large kitchen knife. The man dropped the knife and entered his dorm room inside the facility. He went into a bathroom in the room and lit a plastic garbage can on fire, causing damages to items inside the bathroom. The fire was extinguished and he was removed from the room.

Police said he was placed in custody and charged with arson and other counts.
