Off The Charts expansion: Media production in works for Palmerton business

No matter what walk of life they come from, everyone has a story to tell, and a brand to market.

Soon, they’ll have a platform to showcase their talents at Off The Charts Media in Palmerton.

Jocelyn Russo, owner, said the school has partnered with Off The Charts Music School at 306 Delaware Ave.

“We’re looking to open in the summer,” Russo said. “We’re doing renovations right now.”

Russo said they are “trying to put it all together so this is kind of a one-stop shop.”

“There will be a full stage Cyc wall (kind of like a big video shoot wall), along with a full recording studio, and an engineering room that will be right next to the recording studio to mix and master a full track or full album, and we’ll be able to do podcasts out of there as well,” she said. “The upstairs will be for businesses and brands, or anyone who wants to be able to create content.

“It’s kind of a mixture of a studio/podcast room, and we will also have another photo shoot backdrop room where people will have full access to the kitchen. We’re looking to add a green room where artists can chill out and lounge in that particular area.

On the music side, Russo said they are looking to add a country music station, along with one that would feature hip-hop and dance music.

“We want to have content for everybody; a way for people to express themselves,” she said. “Maybe they weren‘t able to (pursue) what they were able to do; with the help of us, they can maybe be able to do that with their business and brand.”

A 2015 graduate of Palmerton Area High School, Russo said she started doing videography and photography about five years ago as a hobby.

“I said why don’t we do something upstairs for the students and the people of the area,” Russo said. “I’ve seen it all, and want to give back.”

Russo, of Towamensing Township, said she recently attended the governor’s ball in New York City to shoot some content for some headliners at the festival.

“I was sponsored by Grubhub to go along with my influencer, Tobias,” she said. “He brings headliners, famous athletes and more to family-owned businesses to eat and talk about their story as a way to help the small businesses after COVID, so that is how we ended up getting the Grubhub sponsor.”

Off The Charts Media is the latest business to sprout up at Off The Charts Music School.
