Blake Tuggle, 23, of Slatington, is facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, as well as other charges, after reportedly stealing his mother’s car at 8:38 a.m. Oct. 22.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said they were summoned to the 4000 block of Grant Street, Washington Township, where a woman told hem her Volvo S60 was missing from her driveway and she suspected her son (Tuggle) had taken it without her permission.

The woman said she was told by multiple people they had seen Tuggle driving the vehicle around the Slatington area.

Police said the vehicle was located near the victim’s home around 9:30 a.m. and Tuggle was found walking near it. Police took him into custody and searched his belongings. They found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

In addition to facing charges relating to the theft of the car, he was charged with criminal trespass, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a Protection From Abuse order and driving while his license is suspended due to a DUI offense.

Tuggle was transported to the Lehigh County Jail for arraignment.
