The Carbon County Chapter of the American Red Cross recently paid tribute to the Gray Ladies Corps, which offers volunteer time at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

Olivia S. Herman, executive secretary, offered congratulations to the ladies for another year of volunteer work for which they received stripes and chevrons and discussed the evolution of present, past and future duties of the ladies.

Gertrude Bond, Mary Ritter, Anna Klotz and Ruth Fagan were presented five-year service bars.

Laura Wagner opened the session with a prayer and Bond presided at the event.
